WellStone’s annual Beacon of Hope celebration is going prime time. Please reserve your spot at our inaugural Beacon of Hope dinner and help connect your community to health and well-being.

What is the Beacon of Hope?

The Beacon of Hope is WellStone’s annual event to educate stakeholders, civic leaders and community members about WellStone and the ways in which we help those facing mental health and substance abuse issues in North Alabama.

This year, we’ll focus on the future, with all proceeds supporting WellStone Emergency Services (WES) and the new crisis diversion that will serve individuals facing mental health crises.

SPEAKER INFORMATION

Keynote Speaker

Stephen M. Taylor, MD, MPH, DFASAM

Board-certified in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, and addiction medicine

Medical Director of the Player Assistance and Anti-Drug Program of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA)

Chief Medical Officer of the Behavioral Health Division of Pathway Healthcare, a company that is  operating 13-outpatient addiction treatment offices across Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas

We will also hear from those in our community whose lives have been forever changed by mental illness and substance abuse.

The event is also an opportunity to come together as a community to eliminate stigma associated with mental illness and substance use disorder (SUD) and serve as Beacon of Hope for those who are suffering.

FAQ's

Q: What does my ticket include?
  • When you register for the Beacon of Hope, your reservation includes one meal per person and access to the program, including speakers from WellStone, community members and a keynote speaker.

Q: Can I buy more than one?

  • Yes! You can purchase up to 8 tickets at a time. Or, you can buy a table of eight. If you are bringing a guest or guest(s), please put their name(s) in the "guest name(s)" field.

Q: What is the ticket price?

  • One ticket is $60 and a table of 8 is $450.

Q: Are tickets refundable?

  • No, tickets are not refunded. However, if you are unable to attend, you can give your reservation to someone else! Just let us know who will attend in your place by emailing Karen Petersen at karen.petersen@wellstone.com.
