The annual Beacon of Hope is an extraordinary opportunity to build bridges, increase mental health awareness, and eliminate stigma in our community. Proceeds support WellStone’s mission of supporting mental health and substance abuse crises in our community.

Chamique Holdsclaw, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in women's basketball history, rose to prominence as a college athlete, leading the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers to three consecutive NCAA championships under Coach Pat Summitt.
She enjoyed an illustrious career, earning six WNBA All-Star appearances, a Rookie of the Year award, and an Olympic Gold Medal with Team USA in 2000. Behind her success, however, Chamique battled severe mental health challenges, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety, which led to a mental and physical breakdown. Today, she’s a powerful mental health advocate whose raw and authentic talks help countless others open up about their own mental health struggles.
When you attend the #BeaconofHope Celebration, you promote the continued expansion of mental healthcare and substance use treatment services to our communities.
Join WellStone, your North Alabama mental healthcare leader, to provide access to quality and compassionate care to anyone who needs it, anytime and anywhere. Let's all be individual Beacons of Hope for our #community, together. Attend this year's celebration, and help us raise #mentalhealth awareness. There is help, so there is #hope.
